My friend needed a guard rail for his 2nd story stair opening. I designed this to use stock materials (no need for expensive custom materials orders for this budget project).

Ginger revealed two secrets today:
1) She can transmit written messages.
2) She knows the Russian alphabet.
A fuel pump mount is modeled in SolidWorks and shortened by 5/8″, so it can be produced in a CNC machine.
I don’t think we’ll use or improve this design, so I figured I’d post it on here for the great benefit of humanity.
Remember Ginger’s “Bun” drawing? We got home from a family Zoo day today, and there was a surprise package from Matt Hayden from Boulder – 2 Bun T-shirts for the kids!
My daughter, Ginger, drew a “Bun” and I wanted a photo of her, and then she suggested that she take a photo of me, and that’s something we’re going to work on together.

A fun project designed in SolidWorks, the detailed plans for this Fire Pit Table are available for free download (PDF format). If you have access to a metal fabrication shop, you can get this made. The tricky parts for most people is that there’s sheet metal that will need to be cut and bent, and a few tubes that are cut on a tube laser. If you can make compound miter cuts, then use a saw. If you’re going to make this for yourself (non-mass production), and need files for lasers (tube laser or plate laser for the sheet metal flat patterns), let me know.
Do cats need houses? Debatable.
